How does it work?
- Before you start

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- The service is a joint application, so you must agree on all aspects of the divorce.
- In the event that there are still points to be settled, a free mediation will be proposed to you (reimbursed by the Quebec government). In order to proceed, you will have to agree to mediate with the lawyer in the case.
- Although this is rarely necessary, if there are still areas of disagreement, a fee may be applicable depending on the lawyer's fee schedule.
- Fill in the smart form
You must fill out the smart form by answering simple questions, all from a location of your choice.
- We send the invitation to your ex-spouse
We will send your ex-spouse an email (and a call if necessary) inviting them to provide us with their information.
ATTENTION: you must provide us with a valid email address of your ex-spouse to allow us to invite him/her to participate.
WARNING: we advise you to contact your ex-spouse to mention that he or she will receive this email and that a form will have to be filled out. You can suggest that he or she check his or her junk mail, sometimes the emails can be found there.
- A lawyer is assigned to you
Once both parties have agreed to proceed with the procedure, an attorney will be assigned to the case. The lawyer is assigned within 3 business days after the forms are completed.
You can be reimbursed at any time within 48 hours after both spouses have completed the initial forms.
- Videoconference session
You will receive an email confirming the time and date of your videoconference session and a link to the videoconference.
Please make sure your camera and microphone are working. If one of them is not working, you can connect by phone.
At this session, the lawyer will confirm the information and ask you to provide certain documents related to your divorce.
- Follow-up - Cancellation procedure
7 days following your session with the lawyer, if you have provided all the necessary documents, you will receive your joint divorce documents by email.
You will need to sign and produce them at the courthouse nearest you. A fee of $108 (non-taxable) will be payable to the courthouse.
- Refund policy
According to the Terms of use of the servicesWe give you the opportunity to get a refund 48 hours after both spouses have filled out the initial forms.
In this case, you will be reimbursed 95% of the amount, since a 5% fee will be retained for the administration of the file.
