What is a notarial will?

A will allows you to write your last wishes regarding the distribution of your assets after your death. It is in this document that you designate the person(s) to whom your assets will be bequeathed. You can also set out the shares of each person in your inheritance. To ensure that your wishes are respected, the will allows you to appoint an executor. The designated person is responsible for the administration of your estate. It is therefore important to appoint someone you trust. If you want your estate to be passed on without complication, writing a will is the solution.

A notarial will is usually made in two meetings. At the first meeting, the notary answers all your questions and concerns about your inheritance. You will be able to determine who your heirs will be, their shares of the inheritance, the liquidator and all the particularities of your case. The notary will then draw up your will and it is during the second meeting that you will sign the documents before witnesses.
